Charlie Daniels was one of those rare American icons who did what he loved and loved what he did. He also never let you forget that America is the greatest country in the world to live in. With Charlie, you always knew where he stood on any topic. Especially when it came to his love for America and the American cowboy.
Charlie Daniels was also one of those country superstars who tried to work his schedule around the Nationals Finals Rodeo (WNFR) in Las Vegas. Not wanting to be here for the annual event. The Wright Brothers (pictured here with Charlie Daniels) are also a special feature at the NFR, as they seem to be winning more and more events each year!
Not to brag, but Charlie is one of those guys who would come in the back door, perform, says what he wants to say, then leaves for his gig. Quickly dodging most reports and photographers. But over the years, I had developed a good working relationship with him and could usually get him to stop and pose for me with some of the top NFR contestants.
Charlie Daniels will be missed here in Las Vegas as well as the United States, if not the world! RIP my friend! October 28, 1936 – July 6, 2020
